Makers Mark Return of Wetware Wednesday
After taking a month off, the Wetware Wednesday networking mixer for software developers and system engineers returns this coming week. The featured presenters for June are the members of HiCapacity, a volunteer-run, member-funded makerspace and hackerspace.
HiCapacity was founded in 2011. The gang moved out of Box Jelly in Kakaako last fall and celebrated its grand reopening at the Manoa Innovation Center in September. HiCapacity will be bringing some of their creations, and demonstrating 3D-printing, augmented and virtual reality, and circuit design and assembly.
And according to an email from the HTDC, "HiCapacity will be making a SURPRISE announcement!"
This gathering will also be the first maker-centric event since the second annual Honolulu Mini Maker Faire in May. (I'm still working on the recap video, but you can check out the event photo pool on Flickr.)
This month, Wetware Wednesday will be hosted at Holoholo Bar & Grill, located just off University Avenue (2494 S. Beretania Street). There will be free appetizers and a no-host bar. Admission is free, but interested attendees are asked to register online.
