In 2025, the Apple iPhone 17 was the most sold phone. Apple CEO Tim Cook says that they are going off the charts with the sales, but that’s just because of one product.
However, things might be different in 2026 for a few reasons.
One of them is AI, which Apple calls Apple Intelligence, has long been struggling. The new Siri is yet to hit the phones, Samsung will be launching the 8th iteration of foldable phones while Apple is yet to make one, and Vision Pro will face severe competition from Google XR Glasses, and more.
But still, Apple is Apple, and it won’t let bad things happen to the company. This is exactly why they might just have big enough plans to bring the highlights back.
You must be wondering what those plans are. So, let’s cut to the chase and talk about that in detail.
The Foldable iPhone
Apple has rarely taken risks, and a foldable phone is one of the risks that Apple has been avoiding for more than half a decade. Well, in 2026, the wait might just be over because reports suggest that Apple has lined up a foldable phone for launch.
You see, all the foldable phones have been struggling with some issues like smaller battery capacity, visible crease, and durability.
Take the example of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 here. It still has a crease after seven years of iteration. That’s not even the most annoying part. The battery is pretty small because of the thin form factor of the phone.
Well, that’s exactly what I expect to be solved in the new foldable iPhone. It is rumored to have no apparent crease, and on top of that, it will have more than 5,000mAh of battery.
The outer screen will be a smaller 5.5-inch display, while the inner display will be 7.8-inch with the thinnest bezels in a folding phone. One thing I am sure of is that the apps will be way better optimized for the folding iPhones because of the already existing iPad mini lineup.
Whether you want to edit your videos in it or play games, it is going to be a wonderful experience, provided you have a reliable internet connection. A Really Affordable MacBook
This was a long time coming. Apple discontinued its 12-inch MacBook in 2019, and that was the cheapest of them all. Since then, the laptop prices have been increasing at Apple.
This is the problem because the affordable Windows-based laptops, along with cheap Chromebooks, have been taking advantage of that.
Well, that might change.
Apple is rumored to launch a new MacBook that will be priced in the range of $599 to $699. It is expected to be powered by an A-series chip, the same as in the Pro models of iPhones. It isn’t going to be as powerful as the normal MacBooks with the M chipset, and that’s exactly the key to lowering the price.
It will be tailored towards the audience who would need the laptop for basic tasks like checking emails, browsing, and consuming content. It will have a 13-inch display and an all-new design, and I am sensing a huge number of sales for that MacBook.
Apple Smart Glasses
Apple has been focusing on its Vision product line.
Although they are technically supreme, the sales numbers say otherwise. It is the least sold Apple product in a while, and that’s because of the backlash they received for just adding a new chip and a more comfortable strap.
Well, that hurt badly, and with Google, Samsung, and Meta way above in the race, Apple will be ready to take its share of smart glasses.
They have the foundation ready, and they will definitely be looking to swoop in.
Vision Pro will be for the hardcore tech enthusiasts, while the Apple Smart Glasses will be built for the masses. How good will it be? I mean, it’s Apple who will be making it, so I do expect something on par with the competition.
The New Siri
Apple has always been late to the party, but for a feature like Siri, this is not a good thing.
But it’s better late than never, they say.
So, in 2026, the promised feature of 2024’s iPhone 16 lineup will finally hit the phones. It has been struggling to understand context, hold conversations, and do stuff that Gemini and ChatGPT have been doing for a while now.
iPhone users are very far from the utility that AI has been bringing to the Android world. I am talking about the features like Circle to Search, image generation, and more. Apple had nothing like that, and they had a failure.
Will the situation be turned around in 2026? I think it will, but we will have to wait to see.
